PwC will launch its Africa Entertainment and Media Outlook 2026–2030 in Johannesburg on Tuesday 13 October 2026, with a briefing from Charles Stuart, the firm’s Africa entertainment and media leader, at the Southern Sun Hyde Park.

The report covers South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria, and PwC says it will set out the trends, opportunities and challenges shaping the industry across the three markets, with digital advertising, connectivity, mobile-first consumption, streaming and artificial intelligence as the themes.

The headline South African figure

Ahead of the launch, PwC has released one number. It projects South Africa’s entertainment and media market to grow from R301.8 billion in 2025 to R352.4 billion by 2030, about $18.4 billion to $21.4 billion at current exchange rates, an increase of R50.6 billion.

That is a compound annual growth rate of 3.2%, slightly below the 3.4% PwC forecasts for the industry globally. PwC has not released the Kenyan and Nigerian projections ahead of the event.
