10th AITEC West Africa 2006

The 10th AITEC West Africa 2006 was an exhibition and conference about Information & Communications Technology (ICT) in the West African sub-region. This event took place between 16th and 18th May 2006 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

I took time out of my very tight schedule to briefly visit the exhibition (for the first time) yesterday. I was a bit dissapointed though. The exhibition was not as grand as I expect. Not big enough to carry the tag: “West African”.

Many of the companies offering ICT-related services in Ghana were there: ExZeed Ltd, Accu Computers Ltd, Africa Online Ghana Limited, BusinessGhana.com, BSystems Ltd, Ecoband Networks, GCNet, IPMC, ICT World Magazine, SMSGH, Surf Publications Ghana Ltd, Multichoice amongst others. (Not forgetting Kasapa and TeleData).

Well, I’m glad I was there, albeit briefly.
