Africa Data Centres (ADC), part of Cassava Technologies, has partnered with fibre infrastructure provider Oni-Tel Fibre Networks to deliver high-speed connectivity across its Midrand and Samrand data centre campuses in Gauteng.

Under the agreement announced on 13 April, Oni-Tel will connect ADC’s facilities through its Infinity fibre interconnection platform, a carrier-grade network built specifically for data centre interconnectivity across Gauteng’s key hubs.

What it means for customers

The partnership gives ADC customers access to additional low-latency, high-capacity fibre options alongside existing connectivity providers. As a vendor-neutral and cloud-neutral operator, ADC allows enterprises, cloud providers, financial institutions, and telecoms operators to choose from multiple carriers within its facilities.

“As enterprises accelerate cloud adoption, AI deployment, and data-intensive workloads, they need dependable, scalable connectivity within trusted local data centres,” said Adil El Youssefi, CEO of Africa Data Centres.

Ellisha Gobind, Chief Commercial Officer at Oni-Tel, said the partnership enables the company to deliver its premium fibre interconnection into “some of the most strategically important data centre hubs in Gauteng.”

Growing Gauteng ecosystem

The deal adds to a series of connectivity expansions in Gauteng’s data centre corridor. ADC’s Midrand campus sits in the same area as facilities operated by Teraco, NTT Data, and Digital Parks, while Samrand hosts xneelo and other operators. Cassava Technologies recently opened a Google Cloud-powered AI experience centre in Johannesburg, signalling the group’s broader investment in South African digital infrastructure.

Oni-Tel’s dark fibre solution provides an alternative to established fibre providers, expanding the carrier-neutral options available to businesses colocated at ADC’s Gauteng facilities.
