An end is in sight to the free GPRS being offered by Areeba Ghana. A test mode of Areeba’s GPRS was launched in November 2004, and has since been available to selected subscribers.
A full page advertisement in yesterday’s Daily Graphic reads:
My network gives me GPRS
Test phase is over. Launch phase begins.
We trust that over the past year, some of you have experienced firsthand, the value of mobile Internet.
From March, all Areeba customers can access the GPRS facility.
GPRS, first in Ghana and only from Areeba.

Well, yours truly happens to be one of the selected few, who have been able to enjoy Areeba’s freebie, while it lasted.
