Celtel grows revenues by 52 percent

Kuwaiti mobile operator MTC acquired pan-African mobile operator Celtel International in April 2005. As of 31 December 2005, Celtel managed 8.81 million customers in Africa. Celtel’s African operations had revenues of USD 1.5 billion in 2005, an increase of 52 percent.
