The decadent state of GSM network services in Nigeria

OVER the last three months GSM mobile services in the country has been taking a nosedive. Users are finding it increasingly difficult to make calls. There are commonplace reports that for phones that are on and not busy, the network often display or announce to callers that the phones are unavailable as if the user is out of signal area. Some people report that they now carry three phones from different networks to ensure they could be reached. The author received several calls and email messages from colleagues, readers and some editors who wanted his comments.
