Yahoo Messenger with Voice is trailing the blaze with Internet telephony and giving its VoIP rivals shivers.
This morning, I downloaded and installed the latest version of Yahoo Messenger with Voice, version 7.5
The update version of Yahoo Messenger looks sleek and elegant. Its interface is very similar to the version 7. It allows Free Worldwide PC-to-PC Calls, Drag-and-Drop Photos, New ways to import contacts, improved file transfer, spam reporting, contact cards, and more.
Well, the most interesting part for me is, calls can be made from the latest version of the software to selected cities around the world for only 1 cent per minute! Incredible? Well, the information is out!
According to Yahoo, “Make PC-to-Phone calls* (at ridiculously low rates). Start using your computer to “Phone Out” to regular phones and mobile phones. You’ll love the convenience and sound quality. You’ll also save money with our initial pricing of just 1¢ per minute for calls to phones in the U.S. (plus under 2¢ to over 30 other countries).”
Another new feature is the Phone-In, read on: “Give your PC its very own phone number.
While sitting comfortably at your computer, let friends “Phone In” using regular and mobile phones. For under $2.50 per month, choose a phone number in a variety of area codes and countries around the world. Plus while you’re on the road, your telephone number stays the same.”
The new Yahoo! Messenger with Voice has made it even easier to connect with friends. With the Contact Search Bar, just start typing a name or number from your Yahoo! Address Book and the software finishes it up.
This is good.
