Microsoft Launches Swahili version

I woke up to the news this morning that Microsoft has launched a Swahili version of its popular Windows operating system and Office suite.

This is good news. Afterall, “There are more than 100 million Swahili-speakers in the region – in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and parts of the Horn of Africa, Great Lakes, Malawi, Mozambique and the Indian Ocean islands.” Quote from the BBC.

I hope more brothers and sisters in that part of Africa would join the computer age; taking advantage of this new development.
