Nigerians arrested with fake new Ghana cedi notes

Why some criminal-minded Nigerians remain an embarrassment to themselves, and a nuisance to the world, beats me. Why some folks would never work hard to earn a living but prefer to be cutting-corners to become rich overnight, is something I can’t figureout.

It’s so depressing what some Nigerians can do. Well, according to the Ghana News Agency (GNA):

 Aflao, July 16, GNA – Two Nigerians were arrested on Saturday by Customs officials at the Aflao border for possessing fake new Ghana cedi notes.

The watermark and the silver lining, the two main security features of the new Ghana Cedi note, were not on the notes found on them. The suspects – Michael Akinniyi Adetayo, 35, and 36 year-old Sunday Olaole Ogundeyi, have since been handed over to the Aflao police for further investigation.

    This was such a sad point. Many online traders report that much fraudulent activity occurs on purchases made from Nigeria. It is such a shame as the majority of people from this country are law abiding and honest citizens. It is just the select few that tarnish this image.

    I remember an old school mate of mine who used to run a printing press but decided taking in jobs was not profitable enough and the tsrted to print money instead.

    They got caught and paraded on television in Nigeria – the propensity to get rich quick seems to colour everything some people do, and as it is the root of all evil, it eventually catches up with them.
