Vertiv AI and high-performance computing data centre infrastructure

From cooling systems to battery storage, Vertiv plans to bring its full AI infrastructure playbook to Johannesburg this week as the data centre equipment maker steps up its push into the African market.

Critical digital infrastructure provider Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) will participate as a Gold Sponsor at the 45th Digital Transformation Summit, taking place on 11 March 2026 at the Indaba Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.

AI infrastructure in focus

Vertiv’s managing director for Africa, Wojtek Piorko, will deliver a presentation titled “Powering the impossible: Infrastructure solutions for increased digital workloads.” The talk will address macro trends affecting data centres and outline how the company is advancing AI infrastructure across the continent.

“AI is fundamentally reshaping infrastructure requirements across Africa,” Piorko said. “We look forward to demonstrating how Vertiv’s solutions can assist organisations to deploy resilient, efficient infrastructure that is ready for AI workloads.”

Products on display

At its booth, Vertiv will demonstrate Vertiv 360AI, a portfolio of validated designs for high-performance computing (HPC) spanning power and thermal management. The company will also exhibit pre-engineered, prefabricated data centre systems that integrate power, cooling, and monitoring for rapid deployment.

Additionally, Vertiv will highlight its commercial and industrial range, including the Vertiv EnergyCore Grid, a scalable battery energy storage system (BESS) designed for mission-critical operations in harsh environments.

The summit comes as demand for data centre capacity in Africa continues to grow, driven by cloud adoption, AI workloads, and the expansion of digital services across the continent.
