The fourth Kenya Peering Forum (KePF) takes place on 11 September 2026 at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by the Technology Service Providers of Kenya (TESPOK) and the Kenya Internet Exchange Point (KIXP).
The one-day forum is TESPOK’s annual gathering for the country’s interconnection community, bringing together internet service providers, exchange point and data centre operators, content delivery networks, cloud providers, regulators, policymakers and academia.
What is on the agenda
The organisers describe a programme of technical and policy discussion, industry updates and networking, built around how Kenyan networks interconnect and how much of the country’s traffic stays local.
That question has a measurable answer this year. KIXP’s published member list carries 143 connected networks at its Nairobi fabric, the second-largest membership of any exchange on the continent after NAPAfrica’s Johannesburg site, and it runs a second fabric in Mombasa.
Why it matters
Nairobi’s peering is spread across four buildings, and the balance between them is uneven: KIXP members take 130 ports at Africa Data Centres’ Nairobi facility, 15 at Digital Realty’s NBO1, 9 at PAIX Kenya and 4 at iXAfrica’s NBOX1.
The forum lands in a week when that estate is expanding, with new capacity opening on the Nairobi campus that hosts one of those exchange points.
