The Phpbb Group has released a new version of thier popular bulletin board software in beta. The latest version called Phpbb3 is also known as Olympus.
Despite the numerous new and improved features, it is very disappointing for me that phpbb still does not include RSS/XML feeds, friendly URL or automatic SPAM detection/prevention.
I have had to use a PHP script to generate the RSS feeds, and intend to install Akismet to tackle SPAM.
One would have assumed that useful third-party plug-ins would be built-into the next version so one doesn’t have to do it manually again.
I’m currently experimenting with Olympus and I must say writing MODs has never been easier – they integrate so simply into it.
I’m currently working on a MOD and I’m about 90% done. So far, I’ve had to make changes to only one file but I’m eliminating that today – which means I’m going to have a clean MOD which is accessible from the User, Moderator and Admin CPs, all without modifying a single line of the base code.
I intend to write an RSS MOD shortly after – and I’m very sure it’ll integrate as well – we have to give kudos to the PHPBB team for that.

I’ve been watching the tidings over the past, and the US nation is completely tanking. But why can the value of the US dollar constantly rise?
I imagined that when the Fed printed more greenbacks, that would devalue the US dollar, causing it to crash and burn.
The only circumstance that I can comprehend of is that perhaps other countries are devaluing their own currency so as not to nullify their exports to the USA? (I got the idea listening to a civic debate on Canadian tv)
Any opinions?
