Tigo goes to Ghana

Speculation time is over. It’s now official; Mobitel/Buzz GSM is now tiGO.

Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of the tiGO network in Ghana, have also confirmed that the company would soon launch a mobile Internet service using GPRS technology, as well as MultiMedia Messaging. See Mobile Africa

The concluding part of Millicom’s press release reads:

Ghana is the third MIC operation in Africa after Senegal and Chad to launch tigo.

Tigo – The New Cellular experience promises to deliver the next generation of mobile services to Ghanaians to reinforce Millicom’s commitment of providing innovation and leadership in the mobile telecommunication industry in Ghana.

So, my speculation was right afterall. 😀
