Egypt’s data centre market is projected to grow from $305 million in 2025 to $865 million by 2031, according to Arizton research cited by Vertiv, and the US infrastructure supplier has now added a local partner to pursue that demand.

Vertiv, the Ohio-based provider of critical digital infrastructure listed on the NYSE as VRT, has appointed Egyptian systems integrator IoT Misr as a Vertiv Diamond Partner. The companies did not disclose commercial terms.

What the appointment covers

As a Diamond Partner, IoT Misr gets enhanced training, technical resources and collaboration with Vertiv teams. It will sell and support Vertiv’s portfolio in Egypt, which Vertiv lists as follows:

  • Critical power, including uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and power distribution
  • Thermal management systems
  • Integrated and modular data centre infrastructure, racks and containment
  • Monitoring and management solutions

Services include project and commissioning work, preventive maintenance, technical support and lifecycle services. Vertiv said the offer targets the infrastructure needs of AI, cloud computing, edge computing, 5G networks, and high-performance computing workloads.

Diamond is the highest level of the Vertiv Partner Program, and IoT Misr is not the first Egyptian company at that tier: Vertiv named ALKAN Construction and Communication Networks, a subsidiary of ALKAN CIT, a Diamond Partner in Cairo in January 2025.

A market with a forecast

Arizton’s 2026 research, as cited by Vertiv, projects an annual growth rate of 18.97% for the Egyptian market through 2031, implying the market will nearly triple in 6 years. Vertiv attributes the growth to cloud adoption, AI, digital transformation and advanced connectivity.

Demand for AI capacity is already driving large projects in the country. Vodafone Business, Cassava Technologies and Elsewedy Electric plan to build Egypt’s first AI data centre, targeting 20 MW within 3 years.

What the executives said

Ehab El Hefnawy, Vertiv’s regional director for Northeast Africa, said: “IoT Misr and Vertiv will assist organisations with infrastructure solutions designed to strengthen the resilience and continuity of their critical digital applications.”

Amr Nour, CEO of IoT Misr, said the partnership will strengthen services for existing data centre customers and support the company’s plans to pursue new opportunities. “It will strengthen our ability to address a wider range of data centre opportunities across Egypt as the market continues to develop,” he said.

Efficiency and resilience focus

Vertiv described the collaboration as underpinned by a shared focus on energy-efficient data centre design. It said this can help operators improve resource utilisation, strengthen resilience and reliability, and maintain business continuity.

The release ties the offer to workloads such as AI, edge computing and high-performance computing. Vertiv, which says it operates in more than 130 countries, did not name specific Egyptian customers or projects.

Who IoT Misr is

IoT Misr was founded in 2022 as an expansion of ICT Misr, according to its own description, which calls it a regional systems integrator focused on secure, connected and resilient digital environments. It works across smart cities, industrial and digital solutions, operational technology (OT) cybersecurity, network infrastructure and data centres, in Egypt and the wider Middle East and North Africa region.

The appointment follows Vertiv’s memorandum of understanding with Cybastion to pursue government data centre and AI projects in 6 African countries. The Egypt release gives no figures for expected projects or revenue.
