“Nana Ama McBrown marries at last”. Please don’t quote me on this one 🙂 Rather, quote the 5th August 2006 edition of “Ghana’s most popular weekly since 1953”, The Mirror.
The first paragraphs of this story carried on Page 3 read:
For years many movie lovers and some other members of the public, lead by a section of the press, speculated about the marital status of Ghana’s movie icon, Nana Ama McBrown, but the observers, as the cliche goes, were just worried.
Indeed, what the public did not know was that Nana Ama was tightly hooked and, together with her man, was feverishly preparing to tie the nuptial knot. now she is a “Mrs” with a royal touch.
Nana Ama, whose short-lived relationship with singer, song writer and video produce, Okyeame Kwame of Akyeame fame attracted lots of public comments, is now queenly riding on the back of her husband, Nana Wiafe Akenten, popularly known as Chief, a royal from Hemang, Ashanti.
Their fairy tale marriage ceremony was held quietly in Kumasi about five months ago after the two had dated for “a long time”.
The article goes on and on with her bio, entry in acting and her acheivements in the Ghanaian movie industry.
I would conclude with a quote attributed to her in Issue 2 of “Whats on Ghana“.
Nana Ama McBrown : “Ghanaian woman have a lot to offer the country and should be given the chance to exhibit their capabilities especially where men have failed. If you have confidence in yourself and are serious you can excel wherever you find yourself.â€
I conclude not agree with you more, Nana Ama. 🙂
