Cell C’s Majority Shareholder Wins 55% Stake in Türk Telekom

Cell C is pleased to announce that its majority shareholder, Oger Telecom – a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Oger, has won the bid for a 55% stake in the giant Turk Telekom. Oger Telecom joined with Telecom Italia SpA to form the winning consortium, with TI having a minority interest, and who will join forces with Oger Telecom in operating Avea, the GSM arm of Turk Telekom. Oger Telecom will be supported by BT Group PLC’s international consulting arm BT Telconsult, in management of the fixed line business of Turk Telekom.
