Afrihost launches new Fixed LTE plans

Branded “Pure LTE” and based on MTN South Africa’s LTE-Advanced network, Afrihost has announced the launch of a new Fixed LTE broadband plan for internet users in South Africa.

The service was launched with speeds up to 150 Mbps and costs as low as R2.49 when calculated per GB. Subscription can either include the broadband router device or SIM-only in which case the customer must use any of the supported routers which are ZTE MF286, Huawei B525, Huawei B612 or Huawei B618.

The Fixed LTE service is locked to the nearest LTE tower when the customer activates the service and is not available as a mobile solution.

The service is ideal where there is no fibre nor xDSL coverage.
