Converge Africa 2026 secures Intent HQ, Absa and BEES as headline sponsors

3 companies spanning AI, banking and B2B retail have confirmed major sponsorship deals for Converge Africa 2026, as the digital commerce summit prepares for its Cape Town debut in May.

South African events organiser VUKA Group announced that UK-based AI customer intelligence firm Intent HQ has signed on as diamond sponsor, pan-African financial services provider Absa Bank as platinum sponsor, and global B2B digital commerce platform BEES as gold sponsor. The conference runs from 4–6 May 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa.

What each sponsor brings

Intent HQ develops the IntentOne platform, which uses AI to deliver real-time customer personalisation and decisioning for large enterprises. The company positions its technology as a privacy-first approach to customer intelligence.

Absa Bank offers acquiring, payments, embedded finance and risk management solutions across Africa. The bank’s involvement reflects the growing overlap between traditional financial services and digital commerce on the continent.

BEES operates a B2B platform connecting fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) brands with independent retailers through digital ordering, payments and data-driven insights. The platform is active in multiple markets globally.

Event scope

Converge Africa 2026 is themed “Frictionless digital commerce: transacting seamlessly, without borders.” The programme covers 5 tracks: retail and e-commerce, digital marketing, payments and fintech, digital security, and fulfilment and logistics.

Terry Southam, Group Director of Retail at VUKA Group, said: “Scaling digital commerce in Africa requires more than a single solution — it requires intelligence, infrastructure and execution working together.”

Growing momentum in African digital commerce

The conference arrives as cross-border payments, AI-driven personalisation and last-mile logistics remain among the most active investment areas across the continent. The sponsor lineup — covering customer intelligence, financial infrastructure and retail technology — mirrors the range of capabilities needed to build seamless digital commerce across African markets.

Registration for Converge Africa 2026 is open on the VUKA Group website.
