Cell C maintains asymmetric interconnection will result in reduction of costs to the consumer

Cell C today presented its asymmetric interconnection proposal to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) in response to its inquiry into wholesale call termination.
Interconnection costs are the charges made to an operator when a call is placed between networks and in essence forms an entry barrier for the smaller operators wishing to enter the market and thus provide competition.
