Effective 24th November 2008, EstDomains ceases to be an ICANN-accredited domain name registrar. ICANN* is revoking the accreditation on the basis that the President of EstDomains, Vladimir Tsastsin based on records from an Estonian court, was convicted of credit card fraud, money laundering and document forgery.
Hitherto, there had been a lot of hue-and-cry about EstDomains being a rogue registrar and web host. The allegations are that EstDomains did not pro-actively ban the activities of spammers and scammers on its network, and this indeed made their network a haven for criminal activities. There has been a lot of bad publicity about EstDomains on the Internet in recent times and this vote of no confidence by ICANN, is the height.
EstDomains is the registrar for some 281,000 generic domain names. ICANN is currently reviewing some applications from other web hosts, for them to take over EstDomain’s domain name portfolio.
If you have domain names with EstDomains, now is the time to transfer them to Web4Africa Ltd.
Founded in 2002, Web4Africa is backed by a very reliable ICANN-accredited registrar and is very proactive with banning illegal activities on its network. Web4Africa offers Domain Name Transfer from only $9.50 per domain name and accepts made via credit/debit cards, Paypal, Liberty Reserve, Moneybookers, Alertpay, and local bank deposit (for residents of Ghana & Nigeria only).
