Just after the recent AU Summit in Accra, I saw some video clip’s on B.K. Oduro‘s Not Exactly The Nuuz.* They were very hilarious.
Scene 1: Thomas Yayi Boni, President of Benin Republic, yawning tiredly.
Scene 2: Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. President of Equatorial Guinea dozing.
Scene 3: Levy Mwanawasa, President of Zambia. Quietly asleep.
Scene 4: Robert Mugade, President of Zimbabwe. Fast asleep and head is at a sharp angle.
Though the TV program was a political satire, it showed a glaring picture of what went on behind the closed doors of the International Conference Centre Accra, venue of the summit.
Before the summit, I already heard someone complain on radio that the summits take too long. This is indeed very true and could easily be the main reason why the Presidents were tired and sleepy.
* Not Exactly The Nuzz is a section of Thank God It’s Friday broadcast every Friday evening on Metro TV here in Ghana. KSM is acronym for Kweku Sintim-Misa, Ghana’s leading political satirist. B. K. Oduro is a fictitious character that presents Not Exactly The Nuuz.
