Tony Blair’s Sorrow over Slave Trade

Well, its all over the news. British Prime Minister Tony Blair is being quoted as saying:

“It is hard to believe what would now be a crime against humanity was legal at the time.

“I believe the bicentenary offers us a chance not just to say how profoundly shameful the slave trade was – how we condemn its existence utterly and praise those who fought for its abolition – but also to express our deep sorrow that it could ever have happened and rejoice at the better times we live in today.”

Tony Blair however did not apologize for the horrible and inhuman treatment metted on millions of Africans who were captured, sold, raped, de-humanized over so many years in the 18th century.

Tony Blair, I don’t need your sorrow. I need your apology on behalf of your cohorts like Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and any other religious or financial institution who took part actively or passivle, directly or indirectly, in the trans-atlantic slave trade.

We demand reparations now.

  1. Turn your apologies into the essense of Reparations. Reparations that would be used to fund projects and facilities which would be used to provide the resources whereas those who the apology is directed at can put it place the mechanism whereas they can become self dependent and not depend on other nations for aid and handouts. The reparations should be managed not by corrupt crony western picked leaders but those Black African Organizations who have been championing this issue for decades. The Peoples themselves know best what they need to be repaired.
