Having spent several years in art and advertising, digital photography was the only next logical step for Nana Kofi Acquah (NKA), a Ghanaian professional photographer, who refers to himself as a “world citizen”. Nana Kofi was one of the exhibitors at the recent Maker Faire Africa 2009 technology exhibition at AITI-KACE in Accra Ghana.

NKA discovered photography through many years in the advertising industry and was inspired by digital photography. He is indeed one of the pioneers of digital photography in Ghana and invests in high-end equipment which explains the high standard of his work.

In my conversation with NKA, he further revealed that he believes we as Africans are creative but are not marketing or mass-producing the products of our creativity. He is therefore driven by a need for promoting our ingenuity.

As one can tell from his photos, he is a lover of nature and natural scenery. His various shots accurately depicted life in Ghana and in a meaningful way. He is very professional and can be found online at www.nkaphoto.com

Much of this video shot was taken in front of his booth at the MFA 2009. Enjoy:
